You may have noticed the inconstancy of my recent posts; relaying TIFF events every other day. I would love to have some elaborate reason for this, however in truth I've just been having too much fun! I've been taking the day off in-between each party to recover from my champagne hangover and get back to normality. I have missed out on some great parties, however day number 5 all but made up for them.
We were invited to a private dinner with the cast from The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, following the premier screening that afternoon. This unconventional film ran for a total of 190 minutes, showing two different perspectives in two feature length movies. A heart-wrenching drama which tells the sad story of a dissolving marriage between Conor (James McAvoy) and Eleanor (Jessica Chastain). Shown as "Him" & "Her" each story is told within the same time period but cleverly shows each his and her perspective. A truly gripping story which finally came to debut 8 years after Ned Benson (writer and director) began writing "Him".
After the 3 hour screening we left with sore bums and joined the cast for dinner at Toronto's swankiest new restaurant Chase. Grey Goose cocktails were served on the rooftop as will mingled with film makers and fashionistas. Later we were seated at 8 tables for a 3 course sit down meal, which was a gallant affair! Notable guests included director Ned Benson, co-stars Katherine Waterston, Ryan Eggold, Jeremy Strong, Jess Weixler and Game of Thrones’ Ciarán Hinds.
